Pianist Milja Popovic and the Wonder Strings Quartet performed at a concert held on December 22 at an event entitled The Sounds of Mokranjac’s Successors held at the Stevan Mokranjac Cultural Centre in Negotin . The performance included J.S.Bach’s Concerto for Piano and Strings in F Minor and Borodin’s Piano Quintet in C Minor.
The Sounds of Mokranjac’s Successors is an event traditionally organized in Negotin at which young people who either began or completed their music education in Negotin take part. Most of them now work in Negotin or are studying or working abroad.
Pianist Milja Popovic began her education in Negotin and perfected it at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts. It was her idea to get in touch with the Wonder Strings Quartet and propose this joint project. Quartet members were more than happy to accept for they deeply believe that cooperation between musicians across Serbia is a must.
