The biggest regional IT conference, Sinergija 2014, organized by the Microsoft Company, was held in Belgrade from October 20 to 23.
As many as 1500 experts, users of new IT solutions, students, IT enthusiasts, representatives of public institutions, company managers and journalists had the opportunity to hear 70 lecturers from 13 different countries, of whom 40 from Serbia. The conference included 90 sessions focusing on various topics in the field of communication technologies and over 100 hours of lectures. Some 50 journalists reported from the conference.
In addition to the technical part of the conference that takes place during the first two days, a meeting with public sector representatives was held on the third day. The last, fourth day of the conference focused on business and the development of the IT sector in Serbia, aimed at improving the local market’s competitiveness on the global map and creating good ideas and plans for a better development of the IT industry in the country and the region. The conference also hosted meetings with organisations of the non-governmental sector, the NGO Connection Day, which saw discussions on the possibilities of cooperation and accessibility of modern software that the Microsoft Company donates to non-governmental organizations throughout the world.
Along with many interesting lectures the new Sinergija 14 concept and space also opened an interactive discussion while a part of the money from this year’s Sinergija conference registration fees was donated as humanitarian assistance to those affected by the floods in Serbia.
The Wonder Strings Quartet performed at the Sinergija conference for the second consecutive year. Last year the Quartet performed at the welcoming cocktail part and this year it entertained the conference participants on the closing night.
