The Applied Artists and Designers Association of Serbia (ULUPUDS) celebrated its 60th anniversary at the Yugoslav Film Archive. Presented at this festive event were life achievement awards, the grand prize for applied arts and design and other recognition.

At the beginning of the ceremony ULUPUDS president Vladimir Lovrić quoted Ivo Andrić as saying that art is similar to life: it seems like a game but it is actually a damn serious thing, and the more it seems like a game the more serious it gets.

Lovrić said that, in spite of the fact that these are hard times for art and that it has been displaced from all phases of people’s lives, at some point art will show its full splendour and value.

Visitors had an opportunity to enjoy the fashion and costume performance by Maja Volk and her band, while the Wonder Strings Quartet performed at the beginning of the event, playing tunes from its rock and heavy metal repertoire, such as Stairway to Heaven, Paranoid, Kashmir, Smoke on the Water and other.
