Collaborators

Wonder Strings regularly collaborates with accomplished artists of the regional and international concert scene. Our collaborations include renowned vocal soloists such as Ana Stanić and Katarina Kačunković, composers Aleksandar Sanja Ilić and Aleksandra Gajić, as well as other respected authors and performers.
Aleksandar Sanja Ilić
Aleksandar Sanja Ilic is one of the most famous composers of pop and rock music of former Yugoslavia, having composed songs for almost all major singers of the period. He won many audience and jury awards at festivals across the region. In 1998 he founded the group Balkanika, inspired by ethnic music of the Balkans. Old Balkan melodies, performed by brilliant musicians on traditional instruments, reflected the atmosphere of this region in a new light for the new millennium. Wonder Strings Quartet had a long lasting cooperation with Aleksandar Sanja Ilic and Balkanika from 2004 to 2021, performing series of concerts in Serbia and abroad.
Miško Plavi
Miško Plavi appeared on the music scene in the early eighties. He participated in the creation of the New Wave music scene as a member of several bands. He began playing music professionally in the band D-Boys (1982-1986) as a guitarist, bassist and arranger. With the group Piloti he worked from 1986 to 1997 as a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, but also as a cinematographer, producer and arranger. As a bassist, at the same time he performed with the band Ekaterina Velika, on the promo tour of their album Dum Dum. Since 2000, he has played more than 150 concerts across Japan, performing solo on the accordion with his original program Music Around the World. Wonder Strings collaborated with Miško Plavi as the string section in the song “You and I and the Seine.” Wonder String Quartet were the guests of honor at both Miško Plavi’s concerts that took place in Belgrade's Youth Center in 2010 and 2011.
Katarina Kačunković
In 2011, Wonder Strings recorded a collaboration with the famous Serbian jazz singer Katarina Kačunković for her album Tribute to Mirko Šouc, dedicated to the music of the famous Serbian jazz composer. The CD, Katarina Kačunković’s third album, has deliberate retro overtones of the late 50′s and early 60’s of urban Belgrade. Wonder Strings Quartet played two songs on this album, Proplanak and the beautiful ballad Plave daljine.
Bend Kontrast
Kontrast is a rock band from Belgrade consisting of acclaimed musicians, well-known on the domestic and international scene. Their first album Trenutni hir was released in 2012 for PGRP RTS. Wonder Strings Quartet played three songs on this album – Jesen, Ostani, Bilo kad, bilo gde.
