Formal reception for Europe Day 2026

Wonder Strings kvartet za Dan Evrope 2026

On the occasion of Europe Day 2026, a formal reception was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art on May 8 – and our string quartet had the honor of opening it.

The reception, which traditionally gathered a large international audience – representatives of state institutions, diplomatic corps, and the civil sector – was opened by our performance of the anthems of Serbia and the European Union.

This year’s celebration of Europe Day in Serbia, under the slogan “United in diversity”, also represented a significant jubilee: 40 years since the first official observance of Europe Day, the introduction of the EU flag and anthem.

On this occasion, EU Ambassador Andreas von Beckerath addressed the crowd, who emphasized its leading values of democracy, the rule of law and building a brighter common future.

“This is the Europe that Serbia belongs to – not as a guest, but as a host at its own table“,” stated von Beckerath.

We are honored by the invitation of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia to once again perform at this greatly important event. In the addition to the performance of the Wonder Strings string quartet, the program also included a contemporary dance act as well as a performance by the children’s choir “Music of Hope.”
